What is AppArmor?

Basically, AppArmor is a MAC aka Mandatory Access Control system. This a Linux kernel security framework for data protection. A set of MAC rules protects the data and processes in the system.

Another Linux Security Module is SELinux. When SELinux adds rules to every object, AppArmor rules work directly with the path.

By default, Ubuntu systems have AppArmor already installed. AppArmor works by creating profiles and loading them to the kernel. So, the kernel loads these profiles while we boot the system.

The profile modes in AppArmor are enforcement and complain. For instance, AppArmor stores these profiles in /etc/apparmor.d/
