Before we start, make sure that you have logged into Virtualmin.

1. First, choose the domain that you want to add the SSL certificate.
2. Then, select Edit Virtual Server.
3. After that, select Enabled features.
4. Then, check the SSL website enabled? checkbox.
5. After that, select Save Virtual Server.

When you have reached this stage, you have created a self-signed certificate. In other words, your communications are secure. However, your users will be given a security warning each time they access the site since the certificate was not generated by a certificate authority.

How to get a commercial certificate?

1. First, select Server Configuration.
2. Then, select Manage SSL Certification.
3. After that, select Signing Request.

5. Then, enter your organization or business name in the Organisation field.
6. After that, select Generate CSR Now.
7. Take the generated CSR to any company that creates SSL certificates and have one made for you.

How to enable commercial SSL in Virtualmin?

1. Select New Certificate.
2. Then, copy and paste the SSL Certificate contents into the Signed SSL Certificate field.
3. Remember to keep the Matching private key offered by Virtualmin.
4. After that, click Install.
