How to make subcategories in WordPress?

There is no requirement that a post is filed under both the parent category and its child category. The post will only appear on the archive pages of the child category if we submit it under the child category rather than the parent category.

1. Firstly, on the WordPress Dashboard, click on the gear icon on the top right to view the sidebar.
2. Now open the Categories tab in the Post panel on the right-hand side. We can see the various categories that are already present.
3. In order to create a new category, simply click the ‘Add New Category’ link.
