The steps to enable rescue mode in VPS using the OVH control panel are as follows:

1. We can start the Rescue mode from the OVHcloud Control Panel. Select the server from Dedicated Servers on which to enable rescue mode by going to the Bare Metal Cloud section.
2. In the General information box, look for “Boot” and then click…, then Edit.
3. Choose Boot in rescue mode on the following page. Pick rescue-customer from the menu if the server runs a Linux-based operating system. We can also select “WinRescue” if the server is a Windows machine. If we do not want the login information delivered to the primary email address associated with the customer account, enter a different email address.
4. To move on to the following step, click Next. To confirm the modification, click Confirm.
5. Click on… in the box marked “Service status” after the modification has been made. The server will restart into rescue mode if we choose Restart.
6. It will take roughly three minutes after you reboot for your server to become available once more. Your primary email address linked to your OVHcloud account will get an email with your rescue mode credentials. These credentials will enable you to SSH into the server. To recover access to the server, we will then look at mounting the partition and changing the root password.
7. To find out how long this might take, check the Tasks tab’s status. The login information for the rescue will be sent to you through email along with some other information.
8. After completing the rescue mode tasks, don’t forget to change the netboot back to Boot from the hard disc before restarting.
