Resolution for the error
As administrators, we must use AWS CLI to destroy the MFA device (even if it indicates it is not allocated).
To update the IAM user’s MFA, the performer must have IAM permission iam:DeleteVirtualMFADevice on the supplied resource.
Use the AWS CLI to execute the following command:

- AWS account number is the account number where the user exists.
- username is the user’s IAM username.
This should clear the error warning and allow the user to register a new MFA device.
