DirectAdmin Export DNS | How-to

Did you know that the Export DNS feature in DirectAdmin allows us to generate a file with the DNS records for a specific domain or multiple domains hosted on our DirectAdmin server?

DirectAdmin Export DNS | How-to

In fact, this exported file is handy for backup as well as for migrating DNS records to another server or DNS provider.

We can easily export DNS records in DirectAdmin, with these steps:

  1. First, we have to log in to the DirectAdmin control panel.
  2. Then, we must head to the DNS Management section and locate the domain for which we want to export the DNS records, and click on it to access its DNS management page.
  3. Next, locate the option or button that allows us to export or download the DNS records and click it.
  4. After that, DirectAdmin will generate a file containing the DNS records for the selected domain.
  5. Then, we have to save the exported DNS file to our local system or a different preferred location.

Our experts would like to point out that the exported DNS file contains all the DNS records in relation to the selected domain. This includes A records, CNAME records, MX records, TXT records, and more. Furthermore, each record will be represented in the zone file format, with each record on a separate line.

Now, we can use the exported file to easily import the DNS records into another DNS management system.
Remember that the import process varies according to the target system.
