How to resolve SSL not working in Cyberpanel
Let’s discuss the common errors our customers face when installing the SSL certificate in Cyberpanel. We’ll also see how our Support Engineers fix it.
ACME Let’s Encrypt Cyberpanel
Recently one of the customers was not able to install Let’s Encrypt certificate for his domain. On analyzing we found that the customer was not using the latest Cyberpanel.
Let’s Encrypt has made a few changes. Thus affecting the Cyberpanel users who are not using the latest version. Therefore, we get an error when installing an SSL certificate.
To resolve this we log in to the server.
And we run the following command
wget -O - https://get.acme.sh | sh
Once it is complete we can install the SSL for the domain successfully.
Another method to resolve the error is to update the Cyberpanel to the latest version.
SSL Certificate incorrect
One of the common reason for the error is because the certificate pasted is incorrect.
Recently one of our customers approached us saying that the SSL was not working. He provided us the certificate. On checking the panel we found that the SSL certificate was incorrect.
When selecting the certificate we select from —–BEGIN CERTIFICATE till END CERTIFICATE—–.
Once we provide the correct SSL certificate, the domain will load the SSL certificate correctly.
DNS not resolving
Another major reason for the SSL installation failure is the domain is not resolving to the server. If the domain is pointing to the remote server then the SSL cannot be installed on the particular server. So we request our customers to change the A record for the domain.
Thus DNS changes are not instantaneous. Thus we need to wait until the DNS propagation to complete.
