Vultr Kali Linux | Set up Guide

Did you know that Kali Linux is a popular Linux distribution designed for penetration testing and ethical hacking?

Vultr Kali Linux | Set up GuideIf you are looking for a step-by-step guide to help you run Kali Linux on Vultr’s platform, you have come to the right place.

  1. First, we have to sign up for a Vultr account.
  2. Then, after logging into our Vultr account, we have to head to the ISO tab under Servers and upload a custom ISO. We can get the ISO image from Kali’s Official Download Page or their repository.
  3. Next, it is time to click the Deploy button to create a new server instance. At this point, we must choose the preferred server location, server size, and server type. Our experts would like to point out that we have to select Custom ISO as the server type.
  4. Additionally, we can enable additional features if needed.
  5. Finally, it is time to add the hostname and the label to help us identify our instance.
  6. Noe, click Deploy Now.

After the above steps, the Kali image will be mounted to the instance. We can continue with the installation via the console. This is easily done by heading to the Servers section in the control panel and clicking the Kali instance label we created earlier.

This takes us to a page with a page with the details and statistics of our server. Click on the “View Console” icon in the menu located at the upper right of the page. Then we will see a splash screen that says Install. All we have to do is follow the steps and we will have Kali Linux on Vultr in no time.
