Here are the steps to enable this feature on a Windows Server 2019 system:
- First, we have to open Server Manager on the Ivanti EPM Core server.
- Then, head to the Manage menu and click Add Roles and Features.
- Now, we have to choose “Role-based or feature-based installation” and select the destination server before clicking Next.
- Next, we have to head to the Server Roles page and go to Web Server (IIS) > Web Server > Health and Diagnostics.
- Then, choose Tracing and continue.
- At this point, we have to follow the on-screen prompts til we reach the “Confirm installation selections” page and click “Install.”
- After installation is complete, we have to click “Close” on the “Results” page.
How to Configure Failed Requests Tracing on Web Service
- First, we have to open the IIS Manager on the Ivanti Core server and expand the website.
- Then, head to Sites > Default Web Site and choose the specific web service we want to trace.
- Next, we have to double-click to open “Failed Request Tracing Rules” for the selected web service.
- After that, we have to click Add under Actions in the “Failed Request Tracing Rules” panel.
- Then, choose “All Content” in the “Specify Content to Trace” dialog box and click “Next.”
- At this point, we have to define the status codes we want to trace and click Next.
- Furthermore, we have to choose all providers and click Finish.
At this point, the trace rule is configured but not enabled. In order to enable it, we have to navigate to the website’s home at the server scope in the IIS Manager and edit the Failed Request Tracing settings from the “Actions” pane.
