DigitalOcean – Destroy Droplet & Keep Snapshot

Did you know that managing our virtual server is a breeze with DigitalOcean?

However, deleting a droplet needs caution to avoid any data loss. Today, our experts are going to take us through deleting a droplet and managing backups on DigitalOcean.

1. To begin with, we have to log in to our DigitalOcean account with our credentials.
2. Then, click the “Droplets” option in the main navigation menu. This takes us to a list of all our droplets.
3. Once we choose the droplet, we will see the “Destroy” button. We can start the deletion process by clicking this button.
4. We will have to click yes in the confirmation prompt to start deleting the droplet.
5. Once completed, our droplet will be removed from our account.

Our experts would like to point out that even if we delete a droplet, the snapshot remains unaffected.

However, we can choose to delete a snapshot if we wish to do so by heading to the “Images” tab and clicking “Destroy” for the desired snapshot.
