The client operates multiple AWS environments supporting critical workloads across Production, Pre-Production, and Test setups. These environments rely on EC2 and EBS resources to run business-critical applications that require dependable data protection, cost control, and recovery readiness.

The Challenge

Snapshot and backup operations lacked consistency and structure across environments. Missing automation, incomplete tagging, and absent monitoring created gaps in data protection and disaster recovery readiness. Manual snapshot creation resulted in years of accumulated legacy snapshots, driving unnecessary storage costs and increasing operational risk. Retention policies were inconsistently applied, and restore procedures remained untested and undocumented.
