Nagios is one of the popular open-source monitoring tools. We can use it for the continuous monitoring of servers, services, applications and many more.

Server monitoring with Nagios has many advantages. It helps in the fast detection of server failures, network outages and so on.

But, it often throws errors while getting the process status. Process status denotes the current status of the process.

It can be either running, stopped, zombie, etc. Let’s discuss how our Support Engineers fix this error easily.

How we fix Nagios unable to get process status?

Having a decade of experience in managing servers, our Dedicated Engineers are familiar with the Nagios.

Recently, one of our customers approached us with a Nagios error.

He installed Nagios core 4.0.8 on CentOS. And, when he tried to access the home page, he got the below error.

He tried the same after reinstalling the Nagios core. But, he again received the same error.

Our Support Engineers checked the error in detail. On checking using the below command, we found that the SELinux has been enabled.

getenforce

But, to resolve the error, we need to disable the SELinux using the following command.

setenforce 0

Finally, after disabling the SELinux, we restart the Nagios using the command,

/etc/init.d/nagios restart

Finally, this fixed the error.
