Need to receive alerts or notifications for AWS DMS?
We can use AWS DMS event subscriptions to receive notifications when a specified event occurs for a replication task or replication instance. For example, we can receive notifications when replication instances are created or deleted.
Here at Bobcares, we often handle requests from our customers to create event as a part of our Server Management Services.
Today let’s see how our Support Engineers do this for our customers.

Steps to create Event
Following are the steps for creating events:

2. Then select Create event subscription.
3. And enter a Name for the subscription.
4. Now, we can select the Target and Event source.
We can select a topic if we have already created Amazon Simple Notification Service (Amazon SNS) topics.
If we haven’t created created one, we can go to Create new email topic or Create new SMS topic. And enter the topic name and recipients.
5. For Event source, select replication-instance or replication-task.
6. After that, select All event categories or Select specific event categories, such as deletion or creation.
7. Then select All tasks (or instances) or Select specific tasks (or instances).
8. Finally, click on Create event subscription.
When we create the subscription with a new email topic, we will receive a notification asking to confirm the subscription by clicking a link. Otherwise, we may receive an SMS notification or confirmation email with the topic details, and a link to unsubscribe.
