Let us take a closer look at the apache log in DirectAdmin. At Bobcares our DirectAdmin support services will give you a detailed overview of the entire process.
What is Apache?
Apache is the most widely used web server. Using the apache logs, we can easily identify problems with the apache server, syntax errors, and who is accessing what sites, among other things. Despite the fact that each site has its own traffic log file, which is located in a distinct directory.
However, typical troubleshooting on Apache can be accomplished by using the two log files, error log, and access log. The locations of all Apache log files are mentioned here. Note that it is important to learn about the Apache log details to view and manage the apache log in DirectAdmin.

How to View Apache Usage and Error Logs in DirectAdmin?
There is an option in the DirectAdmin control panel to view the use and error logs, which we can go to for HTTP requests to our site or application errors. To access this follow the steps given below:
Step 1: First we have to log in to DirectAdmin. After that, we have to go to the Site Summary / Statistics / Logs page as highlighted in the image given below:
Step 2: Select between Full Usage Log or Full Error Log. This will disclose all the facts in raw format, for example, the IP address – 124.13.40.101 has accessed the ‘administrator’ page of our site, according to the Full Usage Log. This allows viewing of the Apache log in DirectAdmin.
124.13.40.101 - - [04/May/2014:08:38:24 +0800] "GET /administrator HTTP/1.1" 301 597 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64) AppleWebkit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko)
Chrome/34.0.1847.131 Safari/537.36"
124.13.40.101 - - [04/May/2014:08:38:24 +0800] "GET / administrator/ HTTP/1.1" 200 2786 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64) AppleWebkit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko)
Chrome/34.0.1847.131 Safari/537.36"
If we need logs from a few days ago, we can find them at /home/username/domains/userdomain.com/logs.tar.gz. To get to the archived logs, we’ll need to go to: Logs > theuserdomain.com > File Manager > domains > theuserdomain.com > logs > Select the file.tar.gz to download it to the local computer. Then we’ll extract it and open the logs file in notepad to see the details.
