by | Sep 8, 2023

In order to add a server to a vRack on OVH, we’ll need to follow the steps in this article. As part of our Server Management Service, Bobcares provides answers to all of your questions.

Adding a Server to a vRack on OVH

All of the OVHcloud services will be connected via an exclusive private network (ovh vrack) that spans all OVHcloud datacenters. We may create intricate private infrastructures on a multi-datacenter, global scale with the vRack Private Network. If we need to make part of the services publicly available, we can also make the vRack accessible via the public Internet.

No matter how many or where in our data centers they are physically located, numerous servers can be connected to a virtual switch within the same private network using the OVHcloud vRack (virtual rack). Within a certain VLAN, the servers can speak to one another in private and securely.

  • Isolated Private Network

Adding a Server to a vRack on OVH: Steps

1. Connect to the OVHcloud control panel, then select the Bare Metal Cloud menu and Order option. Go to this menu and select vRack.

2. The order will be validated by redirecting us to another page, and it will take a while for the vRack to be set up in the account.

3. Go to the Bare Metal Cloud part of the OVHcloud Control Panel, click on Network, and enter the vRack menu once the vRack has been activated in the account.

4. To get a list of available services, select the vRack from the available options. Click the Add button after selecting each server we want to add to the vRack.

5. The configurations for the most popular recent distributions/operating systems are provided in the following sections. Always begin by opening an SSH or RDP session on the server (for Windows).
