FTP GoDaddy cPanel | Finding Login Credentials

by Shahalamol R | Aug 22, 2022 | cPanel, FTP, Latest | 0 comments

Let’s examine FTP on GoDaddy cPanel in more detail. All cPanel related questions are answered by Bobcares as part of our cPanel & WHM Support Services.

FTP-GoDaddy cPanel

We always request the FTP login when taking over website management for new clients because it is required to keep a website up to date. We can access the server that hosts the website’s files using the FTP login. Many customers are unable to locate their FTP login.

Today, we will see a simple method to discover the FTP login for GoDaddy cPanel.

How To Locate FTP Login Details On GoDaddy cPanel?

An FTP login contains the information on the server/host address, the username, and the password. Also, an FTP account and cPanel share the same username and password.

Our Support team recommends the following steps to find the login details of FTP on GoDaddy cPanel.

  1. Firstly, sign in on the GoDaddy website.
  2. Then go to the My Products page.
  3. Now locate Web Hosting. Under Web Hosting, click “Manage” next to the hosting plan for which we need the FTP credentials.
  4. A Dashboard screen appears. For the server address, take a look at the “Settings” box on the right. The server address will be the “Primary Domain.” Similarly, we can find the Username from the “Settings” box. The FTP username will be the “cPanel Login.”
  5. Finally, we have to change the Password. Under the “Settings” box on the right-hand side, find the password and click the Change button. Provide the password and reconfirm it. The new password will be the password for the cPanel and FTP accounts. Once we find the FTP login on GoDaddy cPanel, we can close the box.
How do I allow other users to use my GoDaddy cPanel account?

Sometimes we may need to grant others access to our Linux Hosting account. We can do this by adding the users as FTP users. Thus, the new users can upload files or manage the site. The following steps help to add new FTP users to the GoDaddy cPanel (Linux Hosting account):

    1. Firstly, sign in on the GoDaddy website.
    2. Then go to the My Products page.
    3. Now locate Web Hosting. Under Web Hosting, we should click “Manage” near the Linux account we are going to use.
    4. Select FTP Manager from the upper-left corner of the account Dashboard.
    5. Under cPanel FTP Accounts page>>Add FTP Account, fill in the below fields.
      • Log in: The first part of the username. That is, the portion before @[your account’s primary domain name].
      • Password: The desired FTP user password.
      • Directory: The directory the new user can use. If the access is for the entire account, just enter a forward slash (/).
      • Quota: Total file size the new user can upload to that directory (in MB). For no restriction, choose Unlimited.
    6. Finally, select Create FTP Account.
