Fortunately, our experts are here to help you out:

  1. First, we have to sign in to our AWS account and head to the AWS Management Console.
  2. Then, go to Management & Governance and click CloudWatch.
  3. Now, choose Alarms from the navigation pane and click Create Alarm.
  4. At this point, we have to select the metric we want to monitor. For memory utilization, you usually monitor the MemoryUtilization metric.
  5. Then, click Select Metric under the Select Metric section.
  6. After that, head to the Browse tab, and select CWAgent under Custom Namespaces. Then, find the MemoryUtilization metric.
  7. Now, we have to select the EC2 instance we want to monitor.
  8. Then, click the MemoryUtilization metric.
  9. At this point, we have to define the conditions that trigger the alarm. These conditions include the threshold values and the duration that the metric must cross the threshold to trigger the alarm.
  10. Then, set the conditions for the alarm. This includes the threshold value, comparison operator, and the evaluation period.
  11. Next, specify the actions to be taken when the alarm state is triggered. We can do this by clicking Add notification under the Actions section.
  12. Now, it is time to configure the notification settings.
  13. We have to click Create new topic to create a new SNS topic. Alternatively, we can select an existing one.
  14. Then, enter a name and description for the alarm.
  15. We can review the configuration settings for to alarm to make sure they are correct.
  16. Finally, it is time to click the Create alarm button. Now, the alarm will start monitoring the memory utilization of the selected EC2 instance.
