How to add Vultr to Namecheap?

Adding Vultr to Namecheap involves connecting a Namecheap-registered domain to a server that is hosted on Vultr. While Vultr offers virtual servers for hosting websites and applications, Namecheap is a domain registrar that enables us to register and manage domain names. The domain name can be linked to the Vultr server by connecting the two services, enabling users to access the website using the domain.

Steps to add Vultr to Namecheap

1. Obtain the Vultr server IP address: Firstly, we need to get the IP address of the server we want to link with the domain by logging into the Vultr account. The control panel for Vultr has the IP address.

2. Access the Namecheap account: Then we must use the login information to access the Namecheap account.

3. Manage DNS settings: Now we should find the domain we want to link to Vultr in your Namecheap account dashboard. Then enter the DNS settings. The “Domain List” or “Manage Domains” section may contain this.

4. Set up DNS records: Create or alter the appropriate DNS records to connect the domain to the IP address of the Vultr server in the DNS settings. The most common one is A record.

We must set the “Host” or “Name” field of an A record to “@” or the domain name and the “Value” or “IP Address” field to the IP address of the Vultr server.

5. Save changes: Lastly, save the changes in the Namecheap control panel after configuring the DNS records.

We must remember that it may take some time for DNS updates to spread over the internet. The changes usually take place within a few minutes to an hour, but occasionally it could take up to 24 to 48 hours.
