Having trouble to recover deleted items in Microsoft outlook?

Usually, most of our customers get stuck after deleting important emails or attachment files thinking of their recovery.

However, no worries! We will guide you to easily recover them.

At Bobcares, we often get requests from our customers to recover deleted items in outlook as part of our Server Management Services.

Today, let’s get into the details on how our Support Engineers perform the same.

Where can we trace the deleted emails?

The emails remove from the folder when we delete them. However, it’s not completely removed from the account. They are stored in another folder of outlook as hidden for a few weeks.

This is to ensure the security of important emails that are deleted accidentally.

In order to trace those emails, our Support Techs suggest different options:

  1. Deleted Items folder or Trash folder.
  2. Recoverable Items folder.
  3. Backup location (on the computer, in the cloud, or with the email provider)

Moving on, let us see how to recover them in detail.

How to recover deleted items in Microsoft outlook?

At Bobcares, with more than a decade of expertise in managing servers, we encounter several customers who face the same problem.

Now, let’s see how our Support Engineers fix this by retrieving the missing emails.

  • Deleted Items or Trash folders.

Initially, we search for those emails in the Deleted Items or Trash folders.

Mostly, we can retrieve the email either from the Deleted Items or Trash folders easily.

  1. Search for the email to retrieve.
  2. Then right-click it
  3. Thereafter, select Move > Other Folder.

Thus we can replace them

  • Recoverable Items folder

In another scenario, even if we trace the email we can’t recover them if we delete them from the Trash folder.

If the account uses Deleted Items folders, when emails are deleted then it could be traced in the Recoverable Items folder.

The recoverable Items folder is a hidden folder. Whenever we delete or empty emails from Deleted Items folder or else permanently delete by pressing Shift+Delete they are secure in this folder.

1. Initially, login to the outlook account, then go to your email folder list.

2. Then we select Deleted Items folder.

Usually, we trace Deleted Items folder, instead of the Trash folder. The account doesn’t support recovering an item that is not in Deleted Items folder.

3. However, we then move on to the Home menu, after that select Recover Deleted Items From Server.

4. Then select the items that the user wants to recover, then select Restore Selected Items.

5. Finally select OK.

Then the recovered items will automatically move to the Deleted Items folder.

We can then move them from the Deleted Items folder to another folder.
