by | Mar 1, 2024

How to kill a task in Virtualizor? Let’s see in this article. At Bobcares, with our Virtualizor Support, we can handle your issues.

How to kill a task in Virtualizor?

To stop a single process or several processes running on the server, use the Kill Processes API. To end the process using the process ID, the API call will cause the server to run kill -9 PID. The List Processes API can be used to acquire this process ID. The API returns the processes that are presently running after stopping the process. We kill processes on the slave and master servers.

We can kill a process in Virtualizor using CLI or using Virtualizor control panel. Let’s look into the details:

Using Control Panel

1. Open the Virtualizor control panel and log in.

2. Go to the page or section where the tasks, processes, or virtual machines list is displayed.

3. Search for a way to end or halt the task. This may include selecting the task and selecting an option such as “Terminate,” “Kill,” or “Stop” in a web-based control panel.

Using CLI

1. In order to connect to the Virtualizor server, use an SSH client such as PuTTY.

2. Find the task’s ID or name that we wish to stop. This could be any task that Virtualizor manages, including virtual machines and processes.

3. Depending on the kind of task we’re attempting to finish, Virtualizor has several commands for killing it. We may use a command like vpskill followed by the VPS ID if it’s a virtual machine. We can use the kill command and the process ID if it’s a process.

4. After we’ve given the command, confirm that the task has been effectively cancelled.
