Allow ahref on Cloudflare with the simple steps in this article. At Bobcares, with our Server Management Services, we can handle your Cloudflare issues.
How to allow ahref on Cloudflare?
Cloudflare by default allows bots like AhrefsBot. In fact, Ahrefs is on Cloudflare’s list of “Good Bots.” It’s possible that another setting, such as Super Bot Fight Mode, is preventing this.
When we face such an issue, we need to check the Firewall Events Activity Log for an Ahrefs related entry, then click on it. It should display the setting that prevented the crawl. If there is nothing in the Firewall Events Log, the block is not from Cloudflare.
The solution for allowing ahref on Cloudflare in this situation is by using the IP Access rules. Allowlist, block, and challenge traffic based on the visitor’s IP address, country, or Autonomous System Number (ASN) using IP Access rules. IP Access rules are frequently used to prevent or challenge suspected malicious traffic. Another common use of IP Access rules is to allow services that regularly access the site, such as APIs, crawlers, and payment providers.
IP Access rules are frequently used to prevent or challenge suspected malicious traffic. Another common application of IP Access rules is to allow services that access the site on a regular basis, such as APIs, crawlers, and payment providers. We can create IP Access rules in the Cloudflare dashboard or via API.
The steps to allow href on Cloudflare using IP Access rules are:
- Firstly, log in to the Cloudflare dashboard and select the account and website.
- Then open the Firewall app by going to Security >> WAF.
- Now choose Tools.
- Then under IP Access rules, add the IP range, country code/name, Autonomous System Number (ASN), or allowable list of a hrefs IP separated by a comma for Value.
- Select an action. We can change Block to Whitelist here. Click the Add button.
- For Zone, select whether the rule applies to the current website only or all websites in the account.
- Enter a note for the rule is optional.
- Finally, click the Add button.
We can also create an IP Access rule by using Cloudflare API, POST user/firewall/access_rules/rules
The Cloudflare Firewall may occasionally prevent our app from crawling the website. Following the above steps, we can remove such restrictions successfully.
