      # /usr/sbin/pure-uploadscript -B -r /etc/pure-ftpd.conf
   2. Then, restart the Pure-FTPd service.
   3. Now, check if the ‘/etc/pure-ftpd.conf’ file for the line:

      CallUploadScript yes

      If we find it, we can comment it out and restart Pure-FTPd. If Pure-FTPd was not compiled with the ‘pure-uploadscript’ service, this will fix the issue.
   4. Then, check if ‘/var’ is writable and not filled up. We can do this by creating a test file as seen here:

      touch /var/test1
   5. Now, we have to make sure the Pure-FTPd service is running:

      ps -aux | grep pure-ftpd
   6. Next, we have to check if any other programs are using port 21, which is the default FTP port. We can do this with this command:

      ps aux | grep ftp && netstat -tulnp | grep 21

      In case any program is using port 21, we have to stop that process to free up the port for Pure-FTPd.
