Site administrators can export data from Drupal views in a number of forms, including CSV, Excel, XML, JSON, and others, by using the module, Views_Data_Export in Drupal. At Bobcares, with our Drupal Software Development, we can handle your issues.

Views_Data_Export in Drupal

Large volumes of data from views may frequently need to be exported into files for non-technical or technical people to use for management or analysis. We can use the Views Data Export module, which comes with a stable release for Drupal 7, 8, and 9, in place of developing a bespoke module for this. To make it easier to export the vast quantity of data from views, the Views data export module was created. Additionally, it offers a progressive batch operations plugin that will enhance the functionality of the website.

We use the Views_Data_Export module when;

1. Using migration tools to move content across Drupal instances.

2. Conducting a feed migration; this essentially involves no coding at all. However, in order to use migration tools, we must have a custom module with migration scripts that follow the business logic.

3. Using site data to create reports that analyze regular website interactions.

Steps Required

1. Initially, download the module using composer as follows:

2. Now, set up the module using the drush command line tool:

3. We need to create the views and set the export display with the required settings before we can export the views after the module has been enabled. Make a master view display with the required fields and filters based on the specifications. In our instance, we have developed the views necessary to list every user on the website. Refer to the image below for more information.

4. We will see an additional button to add the Data export display in the +Add attachment dropdown after we enable the module. Copying all the fields and filters from the master display will produce a new data export display when we add it as a display.

5. The export display features a number of settings that may be used to create a data export of the views in different formats.

6. After completing all the setup, save the view and go to the page. The download button, which, if clicked, will download the data export with all required filters applied, is now visible in the views’ footer area.
