The minimum hardware requirements to run OpenVZ are as follows:

• x86-64 platform that has hardware virtualization support: AMD-V or Intel VT-x( with “unrestricted guest”
  Check whether “unrestricted guest” is supported by Intel processor with the following steps:
  1. Download vmxcap.py from https://github.com/qemu/qemu/blob/master/scripts/kvm/vmxcap
  2. Then run the command python vmxcap.py | grep -i unrest. The output will be yes
• CPU: Minimum 4 cores and a 64-bit processor to run a 64-bit operating system
• RAM: 4GB or more
