Mass Acknowledge Component in Nagios
The Mass Acknowledge component in Nagios XI makes it easy to acknowledge problems with hosts or services that are not in a good state. The component allows you to suppress additional alerts to send, while a team member works on resolving the issue. Also, have the advantage of scheduling downtime for hosts/services or scheduling immediate checks in bulk.
From the Nagios XI Home page, go to Incident Management >> Mass Acknowledge, then select the function you like to use from the Command Type drop-down menu.
Next, select the hosts/services you wish to target, you can further select some of the hosts/services by clicking on each checkbox or you can select all of them at once, by clicking on the Check All Items button. you can always click on the Update List button on the top to update the list if you find there are more hosts/services that are not in a good state on the page.
Next, update the length of downtime in minutes, and enter a comment. Will get an option to select whether to send or not to send alerts.
Select or deselect the appropriate Notify checkboxes. Also, you can opt to make some of your comments Sticky or Persistent. Finally, click on the Submit Commands button.
To verify that problems have successfully acknowledged, YOu need to check under the Incident Management section in the left-hand menu then click on the Acknowledgements or Scheduled Downtime menus
Also, you have access to view the same video from within the Nagios XI web interface under the Mass Acknowledgments and Downtime Scheduling page, by clicking on the Help button in the upper-right corner.
Finally, it is very easy to mass acknowledge problems, and add/remove hosts/services for a scheduled downtime via the Mass Acknowledge Component in Nagios XI.
