How to connect to FTP with Cyberduck

An FTP client allows us to connect our server via FTP. There are several FTP clients available like FileZilla, Cyberduck, Transmit, and so on. Today, we will look at how we can use Cyberduck to connect to FTP. It is an open-source FTP client that can be downloaded from this link.

This software lets us securely upload and download files between the servers and our computers.

Connect to FTP with CyberduckOnce we download and install Cyberduck, it is time to click “Open Connection” as seen in the image here:

At this point, we have to enter the following information in the new screen that opens up:

  • Server: enter the domain name or website IP
  • Port: 21
  • Username: FTP username
  • Password: FTP password

Next, we have to click the Connect button. In case the connection is not secure, we will see another pop-up window asking to confirm the connection.

Let us know in the comments if this guide helped you connect to FTP via Cyberduck.
