There are two ways to resolve this issue:

  • Update SSL certificates manually
  • Exclude entries from DNS

Today, our experts are going to demonstrate both these methods to help you resolve the cPanel AutoSSL not renewing error.

How to Delete/Update SSL certificates manually

  1. To begin with, log in to the cPanel administration interface.
  2. Then, head to the Security section and click the SSL/TLS option.
  3. After that, click Generate, view, upload, or delete SSL certificates link under the Certificates (CRT) section.
  4. Next, choose the domain name and verify existing certificates.
  5. At this point, we have to delete certificates that are expired as well as the current certificate that is triggering the error.
  6. Then, we must head back to the SSL/TLS menu and click the Manage SSL sites link.
  7. Now, scroll down to our website name and click the Uninstall button next to it and click OK to confirm.
  8. At this point, we have to navigate to the cPanel administration screen and click SSL/TLS Status.
  9. Then, we have to locate our website. If errors are issued next to our website name, we have to check these carefully.

However, if there are no errors, we can exclude them from the AutoSSL process.

  10. Now, it is time to click the Run AutoSSL button.
  11. Finally, we can check the SSL security issue has been resolved for our website by reloading the site.

How to Exclude entries from DNS

Alternatively, we can resolve the cPanel AutoSSL not renewing error by deleting the problematic DNS entries from the DNS records. This can be down easily with the following steps:

  1. First, log in to the cPanel administration interface and click the DNS Zone editor.
  2. Then, track down the domain having trouble with the loss of SSL coverage, and then delete the entries one by one.

Furthermore, if certain DNS entries are required, we have to make sure they are set up correctly in the DNS chain, either on the registrar, the cloud caching, or the web host.

  3. Soon, our SSL certificate will update automatically, excluding these DNS entries.
