Like last year, Bobcares was a Gold Partner this year too, for the WebhostingDay 2009. I had a great time at this year’s conference. It gave me a chance to meet people and catch up some very interesting conversations with them.
According to the organisers, there were close to 2500 people registered. Though I didn’t see 2500 on the floor, it definitely was a larger crowd than the last year. I got to see a lot more exhibitors also this time. Unlike WebhostingDay 2008, this time, we had great Internet connectivity. I would say the organisers had everything well planned.

I was able to attend none of the talk sessions this year. However, gathering from the feedback of the attendees who came by our booth, all the sessions were good. We also had a hosting.SESSION track. I was a part of this session and shared my views on “New age customer service: Self Service customer portals”, with the audience.
I strongly feel that automating and Integrating software are going to make a big difference in the way web hosting is done now. |
The session was in a huge hall and there was a cool moderator who introduced me on the stage. The talk went well (I guess ). We didn’t advertise our services or products during the talk. We were happy that Bobcares could share some of the best practises in the industry this year too.

Having been in the industry for over 9 years, Bobcares has a responsibility to share what we have learned from our experience and thus set standards for the industry as a whole. That’s one of our values at Bobcares – ‘Give back to the community‘.
I strongly feel that automating and Integrating software are going to make a big difference in the way web hosting is done now. That was the essence of my talk. I got to meet one of the VP’s of SmarterTools, Jeff Hardy after my talk. We had an interesting conversation on how both companies could help each other.
I have attended a lot of Industry conferences and I feel WebhostingDay has its own uniqueness. The idea of having the entire conference in an amusement park is unique to this conference. The networking sessions, were great and was a perfect mix of fun and business.

The networking party ‘Fantasima‘, a Dinner Show organised for the conference got over past midnight, but I enjoyed every minute. And the best part is you really can do business at the tables.

On the first day’s party, we got to meet some good friends at Sun, Henrik from Topconcepts and also the Candy lady (she gave us maple candies from Canada in exchange for a hand made silk letter pouch we had as our giveaway). We did have a very interesting conversation on the second day’s party, with the officials of a web design company in Poland. We are now working to see how both companies can work together.
The conference had several other attractions too. There was an indoor roller coaster ride that went right above our booth. Though I could not go on a ride, it sure was fun watching the others take them . Another attraction for the WHD was the Black Mamba, one of the world’s largest inverted roller coaster rides. I really did not want to miss this one and I had a lot of fun taking the ride.

Apart from all the fun, we got some good leads at the conference, which me and my team are currently working on for conversions.
In all these conferences, there are opportunities in either getting contacts or leads. We get to meet existing contacts and also make new ones. I am looking forward to attending the other conferences as well.
Just like the WebhostingDay’s motto let’s ‘Get Connected‘!!!
