How to fix PBAS error ‘The specified language pack is installed but not enabled’

by | Jun 24, 2017

In our role as Server support specialists for web hosts, we perform VPS provisioning services, along with configuring and managing these instances.

Recently we faced an issue with a new order in PBAS (Plesk/Odin Business Automation Standard). It failed to provision with the following error – “The specified language pack is installed but not enabled in the system.”

See how we add value to your business!

The following records are displayed under the OBAS logs at “Top > Configuration Director > Logging and Errors > Action Log”:

Process provisioning for document; Plesk client was not found for OBAS account #275 on Node #165 or failed to create: Cannot add client on Plesk: Failed to create account on Plesk node: Unable to set "locale" argument's value ("fr-FR"): The specified language pack is installed but not enabled in the system.

What causes the error ‘The specified language pack is installed but not enabled’ in PBAS?

We could see that this error occurred, as the language that is configured to be used by PBAS to send notifications, was not enabled in the Plesk.

The language for PBAS notification is set under “Top > Account Director > Customer Manager > <Customer_name> > Notifications tab” in PBAS.

How to resolve the error ‘The specified language pack is installed but not enabled’ in PBAS

To fix the error ‘The specified language pack is installed but not enabled’ during order provisioning in PBAS, there are two solutions.

1. Change the language for affected account on PBAS side under “Top > Account Director > Customer Manager > <Customer_name> > Notifications tab”.

Under the ‘Message content type’, choose the ‘Language’ that you need and save the settings and you’re all set to go.

2. The second option is to enable the appropriate language on Plesk side. To install the new language set in Plesk, Log into your ‘Server Administration Panel’.

Click on the Server Management -> Settings -> Panel Appearance -> Languages” feature and it will list 11 languages that are available for use.

By default, German and English are enabled. Then Disable the unwanted ones and then select the other two languages you want to enable.

After performing any of these two options, try provisioning the order once again, and then it would be working fine without errors.
