Updating the Shopify DNS Records in WHM
For any product we sell online, Shopify provides a whole range of e-commerce options. The Shopify domain is the default method of access for a store that we build on Shopify. A domain name hosted in WHM or cPanel can also be used to access the online store.
The following DNS records need to be updated from the cPanel or WHM after creating an account on Shopify in order to launch a store.
To use WHM to change the domain’s DNS record, we must run the following steps:
1. Initially, access the WHM at https://serveripaddressorservernameordomainn:2087
is a prerequisite.
2. After logging into WHM, go to DNS Zone Manager. Then, find the domain name for which we want to change Shopify’s DNS record. Modify Zone Templates and update the records stated above.
3. Ensure that if a record has already been added to www.domainname, we will not be allowed to add another one. The current one must be deleted before adding a CNAME record to the domain.
4. We can block the online store from being found by the domain name by removing or altering these records, which will also sever the link between the domain and Shopify.
