Requirements

 
We need to make sure that ionCube Loaders are enabled before installing Softaculous.

Now we should follow the below steps in order to install Softaculous on a VPS or a dedicated server with cPanel:

1. Firstly, we need to access the WHM as root user.

2. Then go to the Server Configuration.

3. Select Tweak Settings and then go to PHP tab.

4. Then select ioncube for the option cPanel PHP Loader.

5. Click on the Save option below. Now, this will enable Ioncube in the third-party PHP binary.

6. The access to download packages from *.softaculous.com should be allowed if we have a firewall. We should whitelist the following domains in the firewall.

api.softaculous.com (IP : 216.18.221.243)
s1.softaculous.com (IP : 192.210.128.227)
s2.softaculous.com (IP : 76.164.222.115)
s3.softaculous.com (IP : 76.164.201.252)
s4.softaculous.com (IP : 148.251.68.26)

Softaculous Installation

1. Firstly, access the VPS? dedicated server via SSH

2. Then we need to execute the follwing commands to install Softaculous :

wget -N https://files.softaculous.com/install.sh

3. After downloading, run the following commands:

chmod 755 install.sh

./install.sh

4. After the completion of softaculous installation, we can see the success message.

5. Now go back to the WHM and select Plugins option  and choose the Softaculous – Instant Installs option.
 

SuPHP Settings

 
The following settings should be applied if suPHP is enabled on our server so that Softaculous sets the correct permissions for writable files and folders:

1. Select the Settings option in Softaculous.

2. Then we need to edit CHMOD Files to 0644 and CHMOD Directories to 0755.

Now the installation of Softaculous on the server is completed.
