How to add Virtualmin to Webmin via Web Interface

by | Feb 18, 2023

Here is a quick guide to help you add Virtualmin to Webmin via web interface. Our Server Management Support team is here to lend a hand with your queries and issues.

How to add Virtualmin to Webmin via Web Interface

Virtualmin can be described as a web hosting control panel that helps us manage our server as well as websites through a web-based interface. Furthermore, by adding Virtualmin to Webmin, we can manage both the server and the websites from a single control panel.

For instance, we can create and manage virtual servers, configure email settings, install web applications, monitor the server’s performance, and so on. Additionally, we can use Virtualmin to manage user accounts, set up backups, and manage security settings.

Its user-friendly interface has made it popular across the globe as well.

According to our experts, we can add Virtualmin to Webmin to take advantage of the many features offered by Virtualmin. Here is a quick look at how to get this done:

  1. First, we have to log in to the Webmin panel with our admin credentials.
  2. Then, head to Webmin Configuration in the Webmin menu.
  3. After that, click Webmin Modules.
  4. Next, we have to scroll down to Unused Modules and then select Virtualmin Virtual Server Management module and click Install.
  5. After the installation, we can head to the Webmin menu and click on Virtualmin Virtual Servers to see the Virtualmin interface.

Going through this process, there is a disconnect between steps 3 & 4. When I click on Webmin Configuration => Webmin Modules., there is no Unused Modules option in the interface for Webmin Modules. There is an option “Un-used Modules” on the left, but clicking on that does not show a Virtualmin module to be present, and no way of installing it.

What seems to be missing is a URL or file to upload, to be able to install the module. What is the URL to the Virtualmin module install?
