Adding DNS Vultr – How To?

We can easily add the DNS for the domains using the Vultr dashboard if we have a server on Vultr. The process of adding the DNS is as follows:

  1. Log into the Vultr account.
  2. On the Servers page, select the DNS.
  3. Now click Add Domain.
  4. Click Add after entering your domain and IP address in the relevant fields.
  5. Now the DNS page shows a list of records.
  6. Also, include more records for www. and other subdomains. So click Add New Record.
  7. When the new form appears, choose A from the drop-down list. In the Name field, enter ‘www’. provide the IP address in the Data field.
  8. Now press Add. (We can do the same for all the subdomains)

  9. To set up the MX record on Vultr, first, remove the default record.
  10. Then go to the DNS screen. Select the current MX record. Click on the Update Domain option.
  11. Once it is removed, select Add New Record.
  12. To finish the form, manually insert the MX records for the mail host here. For all mail host’s MX records, repeat this process.

    First, choose MX from the drop-down menu on the Add New Record form.

    Put @ in the Name field after that.

    Enter the value/answer/destination provided in the Data field.

    Input the TTL and Priority, then click Add.
