Xfinity offers a high-speed internet connection besides stable performance. However, some users tend to run into trouble when they attempt to access different websites due to DNS server issues. Our Support Engineers are here to take you through an easy solution for this specific issue.

Interestingly, the error is due to Xfinity internet DNS preventing access to or blocking access to certain websites.

How to Resolve DNS Server Not Responding Xfinity Error

The first solution involves redirecting the DNS server address as seen below:

  1. First, we will click the Windows key and select run.
  2. Then we will enter control in the popup box and press enter.
  3. Next, we have to click on the Network and Sharing Center found in the large icons.
  4. After that, we will select Change Adapter Settings.
  5. Then, we have to right-click LAN Connection.
  6. Next, click Properties and then select Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/Ipv4).

  7. After that, we have to click properties again and put a checkmark against Obtain an IP address automatically.
  8. Then we will obtain the DNS server address automatically. After which we have to click OK.
  9. Next, we will select Internet Protocol Version 6(TCP/Ipv6) and go to the properties.
  10. Here we have to again put a checkmark against Obtain an IP address automatically. This enables us to get the DNS server address automatically.
  11. Now, we will click OK.

After following the above steps, we have to reset the Xfinity router and PC and access the website to resolve the error.

If the above process does not work out, our Support Techs recommend clearing up the DNS Cache Memory. This involves entering the following commands in the command prompt while running the device as an administrator:

ipconfig /flushdns

ipconfig /registerdns

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

Remember to click Enter after each of the above commands.

This will help resolve the DNS Not Responding error, thereby granting the user access to allow websites.
