SmarterMail was designed to run with multiple applications on the same server based on the following minimum requirements:
- Microsoft .NET 4.7 Framework
- Windows Server 2012 R2 64-bit or higher. Microsoft IIS 8 and above.
- The server requires minimum 4GB RAM and 2 Core CPU.

How to Install SmarterMail on Windows Server?
The SmarterMail application is a popular mail server with rich features for normal and administrative users. It is an Exchange-level mail server software program and available at a low price compared to others. It requires less hardware, lower maintenance expenses, and provides greater stability to users.
Now, let’s see how Support Engineers install SmarterMail on the Windows server.
1. Firstly, we downloaded the SmarterMail installer and run it.
2. Then we review and agree to the license terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement (EULA).
3. We choose the installation folder, the default installation path is C:\Program Files (x86)\SmarterTools\SmarterMail\.
4. Complete installation wizard to finish SmarterMail installation.
5. After Install Shield Wizard, we run and complete the Setup Wizard.
6. In the setup wizard, we fill the below information.
- Hostname – we enter the server name or mail.example.com.
- Enter the Product License Key.
- After that, we fill the SmarterMail Primary administrator username and password.
- Then we select the SmarterMail Primary IP address.
- We provide the primary/secondary DNS server IPs.
- Also, we specify the path to store mail data.
- Finally, we set some set of rules for incoming mails.
Once we completed the setup wizard, we access the SmarterMail admin interface at the browser.

How we fixed the Error
Recently, one of our customers getting a blank page when he creates a mail account through Plesk. The following error can be found in Event Viewer.
SOAP failed. No additional info at (SmarterMail::checkResult line 160) at execute console command --add-mailname(vconsoleapp::start line 118)
The error occurred when the SmarterMail is not enabled in Plesk. We make sure that the SmarterMail service is started and works properly.
Also, we enable the SmarterMail in the Plesk by Tools & Settings > Plesk Components > Mail Server.
