by | Oct 10, 2021

Wondering about IIS Website Configuration? We can help you.

As part of our Server Management Services, we assist our customers with several IIS queries.

Today, let us see how our Support Techs go about the configurations in IIS.

IIS Website Configuration

Generally, for any Website setup on the Windows machine, it is necessary to perform the following changes.

1. Initially, we give modify privilege to the IWPG user on httpdocs folder.

2. After that, we make the following changes for the site in IIS:

Website > Advanced Settings > Preload Enabled -> True

Application Pool > Advanced Settings

Start Mode -> AlwaysRunning

  • CPU:

Limit (percent) -> 20
Limit Action -> ThrottleUnderLoad

  • Rapid-Fail Protection:

Enabled -> False

  • Recycling:

Private Memory Limit (KB) -> 512000

3. Once done, we proceed with the following changes in the Plesk panel:

Websites & Domains > Hosting Settings, select only the following for ASP site:

Microsoft ASP.NET support
AWStats Web statistics (Protect access to your web statistics with your FTP username and password)
unchecked Custom error documents

Then we go to Websites & Domains > Dedicated IIS Application Pool for Website:

Here, we enable dedicated application pool.

This will follow whenever we set up any domains in IIS.
