We can easily delete LOCAL-LVM from Proxmox with the steps in this post. As part of our Proxmox Support, Bobcares provides answers to all of your questions.
How to delete LOCAL-LVM from Proxmox?
In order to use Proxmox without the local-lvm, we can follow the below steps:
1. Select “Storage” after selecting “Datacenter.”
2. Select “local-lvm” and then “Remove.” (Relax, it’s not a negative thing.)
3. Click “Console” after selecting the node after it has been eliminated.
4. Then type in the following code:
The “local” storage should then grow to the full capacity of the hard disk when we’ve completed that. When not in use, the storage local directory merely takes up space. Thin-provisioned LVM is used in the storage local-lvm.
We may take both out. It is still necessary to delete the LV in order to make room in the VG even after deleting local-lvm from Proxmox’s storage configuration. So, it is not possible to delete the local directory from the storage settings. It won’t vanish if we attempt it. Rather, deactivate it so that when we create a VM or LXC, it will not appear in the option lists.
After executing the aforementioned command, use lsblk or df -h to verify the storage capacity. The / partition seems to be larger than it was previously. Changes are seen in the local storage in the Proxmox dashboard.

Conclusion
The deletion of LVM storage is an unchangeable operation that might result in permanent data loss, therefore proceed with caution. Make careful to backup any important data before deleting any storage, and confirm that doing so won’t affect the functionality of virtual machines, containers, or other resources.
