How to change the root password in Virtualizor?
On a physical server, we can create and handle virtual machines (VMs) using the well-known virtualization and cloud management software Virtualizor. Securing a virtualization system is one of the most important management responsibilities, and updating the root password is a key step in that process.
Steps to change root password in Virtualizor
1. We must have physical or virtual machine access in order to change the root user’s password. If we have root or administrative access, we may usually accomplish this via SSH (Secure Shell).
2. Connect to the server using an SSH client by entering the current root username and password. If we are not currently logged in as the root user, we can swap users by using the “su” command when we are logged in as another user.shell
3. Using the “passwd” command after logging in as root, we can modify the root password. When asked, type the new password and then confirm it. The new password must be entered and verified.
4. It’s best to exit the root session after successfully resetting the root password and log back into the regular user account.
5. Use SSH or any other method that requires the root password to log in once again to verify that the new root password is functional.
Also, go to the VPS Management Page, select “Change Password,” enter a new password, and then click “Change Password” to change the root password for the VPS.
