How to Use Virtualizor to Create or Clone a VPS

To create or clone a VPS using Virtualizor, follow these steps:

  1. First, log in to the Virtualizor Admin Panel. We can access the panel by visiting http://www.virtualizor.com/ and logging in as an admin or root user.
  2. Then, head to the Media section and click on the “Create Template” option.
  3. Now, choose the VPS ID from the list for which we want to create the template.
  4. Once the template is created, it will be automatically added to the OS templates section under Media in the Virtualizor section. This lets us create VPS instances on our server.
  5. We can check the template creation logs in the /var/virtualizor/log/createtemplate.log file on our server.

Configuration Options

When configuring the OS template, we have to fill in these details:

  • OS-Version-Architecture: The operating system template name in the format OS-Version-Arch.
  • PyGrub: Enable PyGrub to start the Linux domUs with a kernel inside it for Xen VPSs.
  • Check to Create an ext4 File System: Enable this checkbox to create an ext4 file system for the template.
  • Disk Name: The drive as sda, or xvda for Xen templates.
  • Don’t Resize Filesystem: If checked, Virtualizor will not resize the file system of the VPS created from this template.
  • Perform Operations: Users will perform root password for the VPS created from this template only if this checkbox is checked while creating the template.

Here are a few points to remember for creating Windows templates:

  • Create a VPS of minimum size because the OS template size equals the VPS disk space (15GB).
  • Install all needed software in the VPS.
  • Shut down Windows from RDP/VNC.

at the end of the day, Virtualizor simplifies VPS management. With its wide range of features and easy-to-use interface, it is a valuable asset.
