Email Routing Deliverability In cPanel
The “Email Deliverability” feature in cPanel will help us in finding any issues with the DNS records that control the email delivery. These are the SPF, DKIM, and rDNS records. This article covers the details of the following topics:
- Accessing the “Email Deliverability” feature in cPanel
- Using the Email Deliverability feature in cPanel
- Managing the Email Deliverability feature in cPanel
Accessing the “Email Deliverability” feature in cPanel
1. Firstly, log into the cPanel account.
2. Now use the search tool at the top right corner and select “Email Deliverability”.
Now a new interface appears where we can check the Email Deliverability status of our domains.
Using the “Email Deliverability” feature in cPanel
1. In order to see the domain names available on the account, we must type in a specific domain name in the text field at the top of the new page. The domain names available on the account will appear as a table section.
2. The name of our domain will appear at the very left of the table. We can find the status in the middle. The status will be any of the following.
- Valid showing there are no issues at all with the domain’s mail-related DNS records.
- Problem Exists (DKIM/SPF/PTR) showing problem exists with a specific record. The record within the bracket may vary depending on the issue.
3. We can use any of the below two methods present at the far right side of the table section to fix the issue.
- Repair will attempt to fix the detected DNS issues by deploying the correct records.
- Manage will take us to the management page, where we can see what the email-related DNS records are currently set to.
Managing the “Email Deliverability” feature in cPanel
MANAGE
option: After we click the “Manage” button, the DNS record management page will appear. Each of the three sections—DKIM, SPF, and PTR represents a different DNS record. Each section will have two fields, a name, and a value, where we can view the relevant details regarding the particular record. We can find helpful links to the cPanel documentation on the page’s right side.
If the system discovers a DNS record that needs a change, it will give us the option to do so from this page. We will also see the “Install the suggested record” button under the DNS section, where cPanel detected the error, and this suggested DNS record will appear inside the text fields.
There will be a brief loading phase when we click “Install the suggested record.” The suggested DNS record will become the active one after the change is complete, and the status will read “Valid.”
REPAIR
option: We can get the same result by clicking the “Repair” button on the previous page when the system finds a problem. The section we discussed earlier beneath the row will be displayed when we click the “Repair” button, and the text fields will once more be filled with the suggested TXT, PTR, or DKIM record.
We can click the “Repair” button below the suggested record fields to finalize the change. When we do this, there will be a brief loading phase after which the email deliverability status will be reset to “Valid.”
With the above-said features, we can control the email routing deliverability on the cPanel.
