- Launch VMware Workstation.
- Choose a VM.
- Select Settings from the VM menu.
- Select the Options tab.
- Choose the Access Control option.
- Select the Encrypt button from the “Encryption” section.
- Make a password for encryption.
- Select the Encrypt option.
- Select Advanced.
- Select the UEFI option and check the Enable secure boot option under the “Firmware type” column (Optional step).
- Select the Hardware tab.
- Select the Add button.
- To run Windows 11, use the Trusted Platform Module option.
- Click the Finish button.
- Hit the OK button.

- Start up VMware Workstation.
- Choose a New virtual machine from the File menu.
- Select the Next option.
- Choose the latest virtual machine hardware compatibility option.
- Select the Next option.
- Choose the option I will install the operating system later.
- Select the Next option.
- Choose Microsoft Windows from the “Guest operating system” drop-down menu.
- Choose Windows 10 x64 from the “Version” drop-down menu.
- Select the Next option.
- Confirm the name of the Windows 11 VM.
- Specify the storage location of the VM.
- Tap the Next option.
- Choose the number of processor cores.
- Tap the Next option.
- Set the RAM size.
- Tap the Next option.
- Choose the preferred network connection.
- Select the Next option.
- Use the default I/O controller types option.
- Select the Next option.
- Choose the virtual disc type option.
- Click the Create a new virtual disk option.
- Select the Next option.
- Enter the disc size in gigabytes.
- Use the default values for the remaining options.
- Select the Next option.
- Select the Next button once more.
- Hit the Finish button.
- Choose the VM.
- Select Settings from the VM menu.
- Select the Options tab.
- Choose the Access Control option.
- Select the Encrypt button under the “Encryption” section.
- Make an encryption password.
- Select the Encrypt button.
- Select the Hardware tab.
- Select the Add button.
- Choose the Trusted Platform Module option.
- Hit the Finish button.
