Configuring Additional MySQL Access Hosts

Additional MySQL access hosts WHM
Every MySQL client has to authenticate with the MySQL server for communications between them and can begin the user can start working on their database. In order to do this, the MySQL client must provide the credentials of username and password with the hostname.

If the connection is local then the server name will be “localhost” or its IP. If the connection is established remotely, then the hostname will represent the IP address or hostname of the remote MySQL server.

When the connection is remote, the IP address or server names of the machine accessing the MySQL server need to be allowed to connect.

In this article, we will allow a remote MySQL connection to establish through the WHM server. This is done by “Additional MySQL Access Hosts” inside cPanel. Let’s get going into it!

On the “Additional MySQL Access Hosts”, you will find a content box. Now enter either the hostname or IP address that you want to allow to connect the database remotely. You would require to add each IP/hostname on a separate line.
