JetBackup Verify License | How To?

by | Mar 30, 2024

We can verify the Jetbackup license status in the following ways. Bobcares, as a part of our Server Management Service offers solutions to every query that comes our way.

How to Verify Jetbackup License?

Sometimes we need to update or change the license for the JetApps products, like JetBackup. JetBackup verifies that the license is valid and matches the public IP address of the server. This ensures that the product is being used correctly and increases security. We can verify the Jetbackup status at the official site.

When we enable the license, it gets linked to the server’s Public IP address. If we move or replace the server, we’ll have to get a new license from our client area.

Reissuing Jetbackup License

1. Login to the client area.

2. From the top menu go to “Services” > “My Services”.

3. Choose JetBackup (click the “View Details” button).

4. Under “Management Actions”, click on “Reissue License”.

5. Now all we need to do is to access the JetBackup through the GUI, and the license will be reissued using the new server details.

However, to refresh or validate the license from the server, we’ve to run the following command:

jetbackup verify license

To register the license, we can use the following command:

jetbackup verify license

Fixing Jetbackup License Error

Let’s see the steps listed below that will help us fix the JetBackup plugin licensing error we may be experiencing while trying to use it in WHM.

1. Login to the server via SSH.

2. Run the following command as “root” user:

jetbackup verify license

3. Login to the WHM server.

4. Go to WHM -> Plugins -> JetBackup to verify the license issue doesn’t exist now.

This restores the JetBackup license successfully.
