by | May 13, 2023

Let us learn how to install Imunifyav with the support of our cPanel support services at Bobcares.

Why install Imunifyav?

install imunifyav

ImunifyAV FREE is a Linux server virus scanner. ImunifyAV, like the ClamAV cPanel plugin, allows WebHost Manager (WHM) and cPanel users on best VPS server and dedicated servers to scan files and manage identified viruses.

However, the ImunifyAV FREE cPanel plugin has additional features:

  • Automated server scans to reduce the number of duplicate jobs that must be performed manually
  • Options for resource consumption to guarantee that web applications and consumer user experience (UX) are not significantly impacted during scanning
  • History provides extra information on previous scans to assist in identifying patterns in cyber assaults
  • A list of directories in a “Ignore list” has been provided.

How to install Imunifyav?

Follow the steps given below to set this up:

  • Firstly we have to log on to the server using SSH.
  • We can download the ImunifyAV installation shell script from Imunify360.com/antivirus.
  • After that Start the installation shell script by typing:

    bash imav-deploy.sh

  • Update the ImunifyAV by typing the following:

    yum update imunify-antivirus

How to Begin in WHM?

Follow the steps given below for the next setup process to install imunifyav:

  1. Log in as root to WHM.
  2. Select ImunifyAV from the menu on the left.
  3. To scan the account, pick the right arrow button to the right of a cPanel user in the Actions column.
  4. To validate scanning the user’s files, choose YES, SCAN.
  5. Scan all on the right to scan the whole server.
  6. Scan all cPanel users’ files by selecting YES, SCAN ALL.

Manage Malicious Files

If a cPanel user’s infection status is # infections, we have a few possibilities. Select the chart button (View report) from the Actions column.

Do one of the following, depending on the file and desired workflow as the next step to install imunifyav:

  • To view the contents of the file, click the eye button (View file) in the Actions column.
  • Using cPanel File Manager or SSH, delete the file.
  • Select the crossed-out eye button (Add to the ignore list) if the file is legitimate.
  • Contact Live Support if you need an account scan or more assistance.
  • Sometimes false positives occur. Don’t be too quick to destroy a malware-marked file. Create a server snapshot before making any big modifications if there are numerous files mentioned that might be both innocuous and vital.
