Migrate from Plesk to cPanel. How To?

We’ve to follow the below steps to migrate from Plesk to cPanel.

  1. In order to start the migration, we have to access the transfer tool. So navigate to WHM >> Home >> Transfers >> Transfer Tool.
  2. In the Transfer Tool section of WHM, fill in the details accordingly for the server we want to pull the data from.

Remote Server Address: The IP Address of the other server

Remote SSH Port: The port SSH is bound to on the other server

Root Password: The password for the other server’s root user.

  3. After entering the server information, scroll down and choose Plesk as the Remote Server Type.
  4. When we click the “Scan Remote Server” button, the migration tool will connect to the remote server and look for sites that can be migrated from Plesk to cPanel.
  5. Select the websites we want to move to the server after the scan is finished. Click “Copy” to begin the migration after choosing the items we want to move.
  6. A new page will appear when the migration is finished, indicating that the data transfer and account restoration to the server have both been completed.
  7. The account we just transferred will be visible when we visit the “List Accounts” page in WHM after the migration.
  8. Finally, the migration of Plesk to cPanel finishes once the progress bars for the transfer and restoration reach 100%.

We can also check under the List accounts menu in WHM to check that the selected accounts have been migrated. We can test the websites using a host file change before changing the DNS to point to the new server.
